History Collections
The main library in Waynesville has a local history and genealogy collection housed in the North Carolina Room. This collection can be searched through the library catalog but does not circulate. The room also houses a large clipping file of newspaper articles pertaining to North Carolina and Haywood County. The library maintains the local newspaper “The Enterprise Mountaineer” on microfilm back to 1900. Stan Smith of the Haywood Genealogy Society is available on Fridays to assist patrons looking for information.
