Youth, Ages 1-17
The Haywood County Public Library Summer Reading challenge takes place from June 1 through July 29. Register at any library branch and pick up your starter bag with a challenge sheet and some goodies! Each task you complete - listed on the challenge sheet - or 5 minutes spent reading or listening to an audiobook will equal 5 points. Once you reach the designated number of points listed on your challenge sheet, visit either the Waynesville or Canton locations to pick up a prize! For every additional set of points you earn, you can choose another prize. At the end of July, bring in the completed form to receive a free book and be entered for a chance to win one of the grand prize baskets full of goodies and passes to fun places like the skating rink and trampoline park! Challenge sheets will be accepted through August 5.
All summer long the library will have special programs, performers, and kits full of crafts and DIY activities for you! Each activity you participate in will earn you bonus points that go toward earning prizes. Check our event calendar for more detailed information, or click below to view printable calendars.
