Step outside and enjoy the Spring weather with this interactive storywalk. All month long, visit the Giving Garden at the Canton branch to read the pages of "Badger’s Perfect Garden." Meet and socialize with local parents and their little ones, learn about childhood development, practice techniques for supporting early literacy skills, ask the youth librarian questions and get reading recommendations, bond with your baby while exposing them to an array of fun sensory activities, receive free resources and books. If the weather is nice, this session will be held outside, so feel free to bring a blanket to sit on! We will reschedule if the weather is poor. This storytime focuses on rhymes, songs, and simple stories to promote early literacy. Target ages 0-2. All storytimes will be held outside, weather permitting, so bring a blanket to sit on. We will move inside in inclement weather. Certified therapy dogs may be present during this storytime. The Library Board of Trustees meet the third Wednesday of every month at the Waynesville branch Auditorium at 4:30pm. Meetings are open to the public. The Library Board of Trustees adopts written policies governing the operation, fines, programs, and book and material selection of the Haywood County Public Library system; determines purposes of the library and secures adequate funds to carry out library programs; assists in development of annual budget; and, maintains awareness and knowledge of local and state laws and actively supports legislation in the state and nation as they pertain to libraries.
