Step outside and enjoy the summer weather with this interactive storywalk. All month long, visit the Giving Garden at the Canton branch to read the pages of Bee Dance. Complete the storywalk and answer a question or two on the tracker form for a chance to win a special prize! It’s warming up outside and the Haywood County Public Library would like to invite you to join the Summer Reading fun! There’s something for all ages during the months of June and July. You’re invited to attend our in-person programs and performances, as well as pick up free take-and-make kits full of crafts and DIY projects. You can register for Summer Reading beginning June 1st and pick up your challenge sheets and starter bags at all library locations. There will be lots of great prizes for those who participate in the reading challenges! Young readers, children, teens, and adults who finish will have a chance to win one of our grand prize gift baskets, full of great goodies and passes! Summer Reading ends on July 29th.

Join us for two Tuesdays of the month in person at the Waynesville Library from 9am-11am. Staff will be available to answer questions and assist you in the use of computers, smartphones, tablets, and e-readers. Staff cannot directly touch devices. No appointments necessary.

Wiggle Worms is an exciting, interactive music and movement storytime ideal for children 2 to 6 years. All storytimes will be held outside, weather permitting, so bring a blanket to sit on. We will move inside if the weather is poor. Certified therapy dogs may be present during this storytime. Have you ever wondered where the vegetables you eat came from? How tiny seeds can grow into beautiful flowers? Join Ms. Jennifer and the Little Sprouts to answer these questions and more! This is a hands-on gardening club where children can gain real-world experience growing and nurturing their own plants. This program is ideal for children ages 6 to 12 and will meet the second Tuesday of every month from 11:00-12:00 at the Canton branch.
