Have a whale of a summer with Professor Whizzpop's all new magic show! There's giggles galore, madcap magic, and plenty of barnacled books as Professor Whizzpop encourages young readers to READ! Join us for a morning of laughter and wonder as we meet the world's only acrobatic goldfish, mis-make a mermaid and narrowly avoid becoming a shark snack. We will even shoot a real life pirate out of a real life cannon! This program will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Waynesville and is ideal for children of all ages. For more information, contact Lisa at firstname.lastname@example.org or 828.356.2511.
Move & Groove is an exciting, interactive music and movement storytime ideal for children 2 to 6 years. This program occurs every Thursday at the Canton branch from 10:30-11:00 AM. All storytimes will be held outside unless there is poor weather, so feel free to bring a blanket to sit on. For more information, contact Jennifer at email@example.com or call 828.356.2561.
This Summer's Reading Series theme is humor. E.M. Forster's novel "A Room with a View" , Kingsley Amis’ "Lucky Jim" and P.G. Wodehouse's "Right Ho Jeeves" all consider to what degree humor in fiction reflects culture. We hope that this year’s selection of texts allows for serious discussions of personal and social challenges while providing some laughs along the way. Participants will receive a copy of each book to keep. Donations will be accepted at the event and are appreciated to defray the cost of the books. The events will be held in the Waynesville library auditorium. Space is limited. Register at FOLHaywoodCounty@gmail.com
