Step outside and enjoy the summer weather with this interactive storywalk. All month long, visit the Giving Garden at the Canton branch to read the pages of Bee Dance. Complete the storywalk and answer a question or two on the tracker form for a chance to win a special prize! It’s warming up outside and the Haywood County Public Library would like to invite you to join the Summer Reading fun! There’s something for all ages during the months of June and July. You’re invited to attend our in-person programs and performances, as well as pick up free take-and-make kits full of crafts and DIY projects. You can register for Summer Reading beginning June 1st and pick up your challenge sheets and starter bags at all library locations. There will be lots of great prizes for those who participate in the reading challenges! Young readers, children, teens, and adults who finish will have a chance to win one of our grand prize gift baskets, full of great goodies and passes! Summer Reading ends on July 29th.

Move & Groove is an exciting, interactive music and movement storytime ideal for children 2 to 6 years. This program occurs every Thursday at the Canton branch from 10:30-11:00 AM. All storytimes will be held outside unless there is poor weather, so feel free to bring a blanket to sit on. Just because we live in the mountains, doesn't mean we can't learn all about the amazing ocean! The Hendersonville Aquarium is putting on an interactive educational experience with lots of live aquatic animals. This program is ideal for children of all ages. Join Zaniac and dive under the water's surface to learn about the largest habitat in the world. Discover how marine mammals are adapted for life in the ocean and learn all about the different animals that call the ocean their home with hands-on activities and fun projects. Learn just what it takes to be a friend to the natural world and how to protect our oceans and take steps to help in conservation science! This program is ideal for children ages 5 to 10.
