  2. Western Carolina Photo Exhibit

    You’re invited to view a photo exhibit of historic Haywood County photographs at the Waynesville Library during the months of August and September. The community’s assistance is needed to identify the people and places pictured. Images are from the Sherrill Studio Photograph collection at WCU’s Hunter Library and depict the region during the first half of the 20th century. Exhibit is in the North Carolina Room.     The Library Board of Trustees meet the third Wednesday of every month at the Waynesville branch Auditorium at 4:30pm. Meetings are open to the public. The Library Board of Trustees adopts written policies governing the operation, fines, programs, and book and material selection of the Haywood County Public Library system; determines purposes of the library and secures adequate funds to carry out library programs; assists in development of annual budget; and, maintains awareness and knowledge of local and state laws and actively supports legislation in the state and nation as they pertain to libraries. Authorities: North Carolina General Statutes 153A-261, 263, 265 and 266.
