You’re invited to view a photo exhibit of historic Haywood County photographs at the Waynesville Library during the months of August and September. The community’s assistance is needed to identify the people and places pictured. Images are from the Sherrill Studio Photograph collection at WCU’s Hunter Library and depict the region during the first half of the 20th century. Exhibit is in the North Carolina Room. 3. Friends of the Library Summer Series (3 of 3)

    August 18, 2022, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM

This Summer's Reading Series theme is humor. E.M. Forster's novel "A Room with a View" , Kingsley Amis’ "Lucky Jim" and P.G. Wodehouse's "Right Ho Jeeves" all consider to what degree humor in fiction reflects culture. We hope that this year’s selection of texts allows for serious discussions of personal and social challenges while providing some laughs along the way. Participants will receive a copy of each book to keep. Donations will be accepted at the event and are appreciated to defray the cost of the books. The events will be held in the Waynesville library auditorium. Space is limited. Register at FOLHaywoodCounty@gmail.com
