Library Foundation

The Public Library Foundation of Haywood County is a charitable, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization, incorporated in 2012 to receive funds to strengthen and expand our local public library system. An independent Board of Directors, selected to represent the diverse population that the library serves, governs the Library Foundation.

Mission

The Foundation’s mission is to work closely with library administration to identify needs the Foundation can fund, above and beyond basic services provided by the Library's operating budget and ongoing activities supported by the Friends of the Library.

Gifts

Gifts to the Foundation may be made in many forms and may be designated to a specific branch location, collection, or function:

  • A pledge for a series of payments over a period of time
  • A single payment
  • Unrestricted

Types of Gifts

  • Bequest in a will
  • Cash
  • Charitable trust
  • Real estate or personal property (subject to acceptance by the Board)
  • Securities

Donations may be mailed to the Foundation at 678 S Haywood St, Waynesville, NC 28786. Checks should be made out to HCPL Foundation. Donations can also be made online by clicking here!

Volunteer

If you are interested in joining the volunteer Board of Directors of the Haywood County Public Library Foundation, stop by the Waynesville Library to pick up an application from the Library Director or Assistant Director, or simply download below, and return the completed form to the Waynesville branch.
