Our vision is to maintain a staff of well-equipped, highly trained, professional members to provide the highest level of customer service with a sense of urgency.  While providing comprehensive services, we will be transparent in our actions.  Utilizing innovative technology, we will continue to proactively promote responsible animal ownership and enhance the quality of life to ensure Haywood County is a safe and attractive place to live, work, and visit. 


Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Enforcement of the Haywood County Animal Services Ordinance.
  • Response to variety of incidents, including but not limited to animal bites and attacks, roaming and nuisance animal complaints, cruelty and welfare complaints, and serving as rabies inspector.
  • Operations of the county animal shelter including but not limited to husbandry, animal intakes, adoptions, redemptions, euthanasia, proper disposal of animals, reception and dispatching calls from the public regarding the animal shelter and complaints of violations of the Haywood County Animal Services Ordinance. 
  • Assist, as directed by County Manager or Animal Services Director, with any aspect of county government operation.
