at the Haywood County Development Services Office, located at 157 Paragon Parkway, Suite 202, Clyde, right next to Tractor Supply.
The Helene Recovery Center remains a key resource for residents navigating the long-term recovery process.

The Helene Recovery Center, which has been providing crucial recovery assistance to residents impacted by Hurricane Helene, will remain open at the Haywood Community College High Tech Center (112 Industrial Park Drive, Waynesville) until April 30, 2025. On May 1, 2025, the center will transition to a new location at the Haywood County Development Services Office (157 Paragon Pkwy, Ste 202, Clyde) right next to Tractor Supply, until further notice.
The center offers dedicated support for residents as they continue to recover from the storm’s impacts. A Disaster Case Manager and ongoing Individual Assistance from the State of North Carolina will remain available at the new location. Additionally, NC Emergency Management case managers, State Individual Assistance representatives, and FEMA Individual Assistance personnel will continue to assist Haywood County residents. There is also staff from Haywood County Health and Human Services on-site to answer resident questions.
The recovery center will remain open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) located at the HCC High Tech Center, 112 Industrial Park Drive in Waynesville, will officially close on March 29, 2025. In its place, a Helene Recovery Center will open in the same location to continue assisting residents affected by Hurricane Helene.
While significant progress has been made in recovery efforts, many residents in Haywood County are still facing challenges in rebuilding their homes, businesses, and lives. The need for assistance remains critical, and this transition ensures that those impacted by the storm continue to have access to essential resources and support.
The center will provide a dedicated Disaster Case Manager and ongoing Individual Assistance from the State of North Carolina. There will also be NC Emergency Management case managers, State Individual Assistance representatives, and FEMA Individual Assistance personnel available to assist residents. This transition ensures that residents continue to receive the necessary support as they recover from the storm’s impacts.
The center will be open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, starting March 31, 2025, and will remain in operation until April 25, 2025.
