[ARCHIVED] Changes to Haywood County Helene Disaster Recovery Center Staffing

Copy of GET THE MEASLES VACCINE!

The Haywood County Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) remains open and operational, but several partners are concluding their in-person services in the coming days.

At close of business today (June 26, 2025), the Small Business Administration (SBA) will no longer be onsite at the DRC. Individuals needing to follow up with SBA regarding disaster loans or other recovery services related to Tropical Storm Helene should visit https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance/hurricane-helene or call 1-800-659-2955.

Additionally, FEMA Individual Assistance staff will conclude their onsite support at the DRC at close of business on Monday, June 30, 2025. This change applies to all counties impacted by Helene.

Residents can reach FEMA directly by calling 1-800-621-3362 or visiting DisasterAssistance.gov.

The North Carolina Division of Emergency Management will continue to staff the DRC with caseworkers and FEMA-trained Individual Assistance counselors to help residents with:

  • Checking the status of their FEMA application
  • Filing or understanding an appeal
  • Navigating bridge or private road repair programs
  • Learning more about the RenewNC housing and home repair programs

For information about disaster housing assistance or home repair through the state’s RenewNC program, please visit RenewNC.org.

Haywood County Emergency Management staff remain onsite to support residents with the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. Haywood County's Hazard Mitigation Program may be able to help you recover and prepare for the future.

Haywood County Health and Human Services staff are also available on-site to answer questions and connect residents with local support.

The Helene Disaster Recovery Center, located at 157 Paragon Parkway in Clyde, next to Tractor Supply, remains open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We strongly encourage anyone affected by Helene to visit the center for in-person help and guidance.
