[ARCHIVED] Public Notice of Intent to Lease County Property to Mountain Projects, Inc.

PUBLIC NOTICE - INTENT TO LEASE COUNTY PROPERTY

Notice is hereby given that the Haywood County Board of Commissioners intends to lease real property owned by Haywood County to Mountain Projects, Inc., a North Carolina non-profit corporation.

Property Description: County building located at 2147 Asheville Highway, Waynesville, North Carolina 28786

  • Lessee: Mountain Projects, Inc., a North Carolina non-profit corporation
  • Lease Terms:
    • Duration: Five (5) years; option for one five-year renewal
    • Annual Rental Rate: One Dollar ($1.00)
    •  Purpose: To assist the non-profit organization in conducting its public charitable work

Public Purpose: This lease serves the public interest by supporting the charitable activities of Mountain Projects, Inc., which benefit the citizens of Haywood County, and reduce the burden of government.

The Haywood County Board of Commissioners will consider this proposed lease at its regular meeting of August 18, 2025. Citizens are invited to attend and provide public comment.
