[ARCHIVED] Termination of State of Emergency for Tropical Storm Fred 8-15-22

   RESOLUTION TERMINATING THE PROCLAMATION OF A STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR TROPICAL STORM FRED 

 WHEREAS, a Proclamation of a State of Emergency for Haywood County and the Towns of Clyde, Canton, Maggie Valley, and Waynesville was declared on August 17, 2021 to address response and protective actions, including dealing with the potential threat of injury and loss of life and property due to the remnants of Tropical Storm Fred; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority contained in N.C.G.S. Chapter 166A (Article 1A), N.C.G.S. Chapter 14 (Article 36A) and Chapter 31 of the Haywood County Code of Ordinances, Chairman L. Kevin Ensley, of the Haywood County Board of Commissioners, proclaimed a State of Emergency within Haywood County on August 17, 2021; and

WHEREAS, the conditions necessitating the declaration of emergency have now been addressed and can be further dealt with through the ordinary processes of government,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS:

The above-referenced proclamation of a state of emergency and all the restrictions and orders arising therefrom are hereby terminated effective 8:19 pm on August 15, 2022.
