Child care centers are licensed by the Division of Child Development and Early Education. However, they are inspected every six months by Environmental Health Specialists for compliance with sanitation rules as required by state law. Child care centers must submit plans for review prior to any construction, renovations, or other modifications.
All public, private and religious schools in Haywood County are inspected once a year by our Environmental Health Specialists. School kitchens are inspected four times a year according to the same standards as food service establishments.
Haywood County Health and Human Services is an equal opportunity employer and provider.
