Fly Fishing

Courses
Beginner and Intermediate courses are designed for those who are new to fly fishing and would like to learn more, or for those who want to brush up on fundamentals. Topics covered include: casting, fly tying, reading the water and much more. Both courses are led by local, experienced fly fisher, Tommy Thomas. Participants do not need a fishing license for the beginner and intermediate courses. Loaner rods are available for those who do not own a rod. Courses are $10, paid at registration. Both courses will be held below the dam at Lake Junaluska with a field trip to the West Fork of the Pigeon River. September

Beginner/Intermediate: 10 and 17. 10am-12pm with lunch break - resume 1-3 pm

October

Beginner/Intermediate: 8 and 15. 10am-12pm with lunch break - resume 1-3 pm

Expeditions

For intermediate and advanced participants, expeditions are a three-hour journey through Haywood County’s finest trout streams and rivers. Expeditions are led by local, experienced fly fishermen, Ray Sugg and Reid Warren. A fishing license is required for participants and expeditions are limited to seven participants.
