Responsibility

The Land Records / Geographic Information Services (GIS) Department is a function of the Tax Administration Office and is responsible for the development, maintenance, and dissemination of the County’s digital geographic data.

Mission Statement

To serve Haywood County by providing the most current land related information and maps to the general public, county management, and other governmental departments with utmost accuracy and professionalism.

Primary Functions

The Land Records/Geographic Information Systems Department has three primary functions:

  1. To transfer by document real property from one name to another
  2. To maintain property line maps and digitize new land characteristic layers into the GIS; and
  3. To assist the public

By visiting this office, one can access most information generated by other departments; i.e, deeds, appraisal, tax billing, and tax collections.
